Leelee (Unraced)

Leelee is a darling girl who has always lived with cats. She had to leave her home due to no fault of her own and is used to living with dogs of all sizes and mulitple kitties. She is not used to children and is a little wary of them, although quickly forms bonds with medium sized children when given the opportunity. She is confident, friendly, house trained, crate trained, and would like people who are home at least some of the time.

Tikka (Allegro Ticker)

Lovely Tikka is all ready for his new family. He is social with all other dogs and can live with cats. He could stay home while you work for short days especially if he has a canine companion. Tikka has completed full professional rehab after a front leg fracture. He wont be allowed to run around in dog parks but in every other way he is a normal pet. Tikka is 3 years old, and very loving. He can be a bit timid of tall loud teenage boys (can't we all!) He has been well fostered, is crate trained and house trained and used to living with other dogs and cats and in a family setting.

Ebony (Southern Affair)

Sweet Ebony is a golden girl in all the right ways! She has no idea of her age and is playful and loving and always keen for a walk. (Due to her age, they should be a bit shorter - she gets tired a bit more quickly, although she has no idea why!) This happiest of girls loves toys and cuddles, would love to live with another dog or can live alone. She is trainable with cats but has also previously learned to chase them, so it may be simpler at her time of life to take her into a no-cat home. Do you have a couch and a lot of love? Aimee (Xanthe Jewel)

Aimee is an experienced pet who had to leave her family. She is social with all other dogs and has previously lived with cats, tiny dogs and toddlers. She is loving, bouncy and playful. She is crate trained and house trained. Could she be the girl for you?

Brandy (Spring Forward)

Brandy is a loving girl who is crate trained and all ready for her new home. She loves people but can get a little overwhelmed in very busy settings. She is a little timid of smaller dogs but would enjoy another dog to live with. She is trainable to live with cats.

Chica (Unraced)

Chica is initally a very timid little girl but once you are her family she is loving and playful. She will never love loud voices or busy places/households - she is a shy little thing who needs you to keep her world small. She needs another dog (of any breed) to live with - a big dog or a greyhond will be helpful as a family member also to help her feel safe out and about. She is a cheeky monkley who loves toys and cuddles. She is house trained and crate trained.

Hypo (Opawa Hypo)

Handsome happy Hypo! What a lovely boy he is. A little more energetic than most greyhounds, Hypo would like an active family with lots of walks. He would prefer people who are around most of the time or perhaps another dog to live with. He can be trained to live with a cat if both you and the cat are on board.

Ted (Ted Jewel)

Big bouncy playful Ted wants to be your best friend! He would like another dog to play with, although he is wonderful with dogs of all sizes due to his own size his ideal BFF would be of a medium-large breed. He is a little more energetic than your average greyhound. Ted needs a settled routine, exercise and lots of love and will be the perfect pet.

Jimmy (Jimmy Beer)

Lovely boy Jimmy injured his leg early in his racing career. He's all fixed up but will always need shorter walks and limited zoomies. He is a loving and fun-loving dog who is always up for a snuggle, a toy play or a walk. He's friendly with dogs of all sizes, experienced in living with a cray cray cocker spaniel and would enjoy any calm bitch as a buddy. He could also live as an only dog. He's quite big so probably suited to older children. Jimmy can stay home while you work for shorter days or may enjoy a daycare where he also gets kennel time for rests.

Kayla is so playful and sweet. She has receovered from an injury so no dog parks for this girl. She would like people who are home most of the time, or perhaps a medium size calm dog for company. She loves her toys, snuggles and humans. Could she be the one for you?

Ben loves: couches, cuddles and small dogs. Ben dislikes: being home alone, being shut in a kennel, and big male dogs eying him up. He's not that kind of boy! He likes kids, could live with a confident cat with training, and is smart and a quick learner. He is crate trained and doesn't mind being crated. Candy (Bit More)

Sweet Candy is a little bit shy, very playful and can be naughty! She knows all about being a pet but had to leave her home due to a bad habit of pinching things off the kitchen counters. Candy is really all about being playful and cheeky and benefits a lot from boundaries and plenty of love. She is crate trained and house trained. She could happily live with another dog in a structured home with rules for her to follow. She can be nervous out and about.

Zoomer (Night Howler)

Zoomer is an experienced pet, returned due to his family having two toddlers and it all being a bit overwhelming (Zoomer was adopted to a no-kids home). Zoomer is a playful, outgoing dog - who is quite shy in new situations and out and about. He's suited to older kids/families who don't have a lot of visitors. He's a really playful loving guy who also enjoys his own space. He can't stay home alone but will happily stay home alone with a calm bitch of a medium-large breed. He is crate trained and house trained and thrives on routine. Zoomer has had a deep corn on one foot and although this is now resolved he still will prefer a grassy backyard and only short walks.

What a stunner - Prince Charming in the flesh! Leo is a loving, active, bouncy young fellow who still needs lots of guidance as he matures. He would do well with a calm and tolerant older bitch to play with! Leo broke his leg as a puppy and has completed professional rehab for this injury. He is social with all dogs and would like a family who are home a good bit of the time.

Jordan (Bad Movies)

Jordan has been a pet before but due to some anxiety issues his family found they couldn't keep him. Jordan has some additional needs but he is a wonderful, confident boy with perfect leash manners. He likes kids, loves to play ball, and is confident and friendly out and about with all dogs. Jordan cant live with cats, and needs regular crate time each day. He would enjoy living with a doggie friend. He is house trained and crate trained and needs you to be a loving and firm leader for him in his life.

Tahi (Sweet Tahi) is a beautiful 3 year old girl. Cat trainable, dog social as well as friendly with kids she would suit a variety of homes. She would prefer human or at least canine company during the day!

Hannah (Epic Hannah) is a beautiful blue 3 year old girl. She is sweet, affectionate and loves all people. Hannah is dog social with dogs of all sizes and cat trainable. She is currently living in foster home with a cat and kids. Hannah would like a home where she has another dog for company and to help give her confidence.

Fimpsy (Fimple Allen)

Meet the most beautiful little old lady. Fimpsy was previously in a home but unfortunately couldn’t stay there so is now on the hunt for new digs at 9 1/2 years old. Despite her age she still enjoys a good run around the garden before snoozing the rest of the day away. Fimpsy is currently in foster care with 2 other greyhounds and doing beautifully. She would love to live with another dog and/or have owners who are around a fair amount during the day. Fimpsy enjoys her own space, however she won’t say no whenever her foster sister wants a snuggle. She also adores her crate, and will often take herself to bed for a snooze. She would suit a retiree who needs a sweet gentle companion wonderfully.

Peggy is 3 years old and still rather a puppy at heart. A darling and sweet girl she loves affection and cuddles with all people. Peggy is in foster care learning about home life. Excitable initially when something new is going on she soon settles and calms. Peggy is dog social with others and is happy and excited to meet other breeds.

Teresa (Teresa Mendoza)

Teresa is 5 years old and an experienced pet. She sadly had to leave her family due to a change in their circumstances. Teresa adores children and has grown up around babies and toddlers. She is a gentle and sweet girl. Teresa is dog social but likes polite dogs who don’t rush into her space. She is happy to stay home whilst her people are at work, is crate trained and currently in foster with another greyhound.

Bud (Opawa Bud)

Bud (Opawa Bud) is a darling small girl of 5 year old with the most loving nature. Bud was in a home for a short period of time but unfortunately due to her owners allergy issues she has come back to us. She adores cuddles with people and laps up as many as you can give her. Bud is sociable with other dogs. She has been well fostered, is crate trained and used to being in a home environment. If you want an affectionate loving dog Bud could be the one for you.

Aslan

Aslan is a very special boy. He is great with other dogs, in fact he tells me he would love a home where he had a companion if he was going to be home alone for any length of time. He has been socialised with children but as he can get a bit bouncy when excited older children would be more suitable. He loves going on adventures and getting out and about. Unfortunately he does have a (non-racing) injury and although he has a full clearance from the fantastic team at Animal Orthopaedics he does have his limitations that will need to be discussed with his family. For this reason he has a reduced adoption fee.

Eamon (Eamon)

Horowhenua: Do you have a special heart for an older greyhound? Eamon is 8 years old and wants to retire on your couch. He has a health condition which means he should only have short walks and zoomies are to be limited to his own back yard, but he requires no medication or extra costs. He is friendly with other dogs but isn’t good at socialising so needs to live as an only dog. He is loving and quite gentle and can stay home while you work.

Sammy

Central Hawkes Bay: Sammy is sweet and shy. He is only partially sighted, although sees well enough to get around. He does not have a degenerative condition and does not require medication. He is uncertain of the big scary world and needs a quiet home, perhaps with a calm older bitch of a medium-large breed. He is scared of zippy dogs. Gentle people with lots of love - Sammy is your man. Once he is confident he is cheeky and playful and will keep you laughing.
